This is a song written by Steve Howe from the band "Yes". I have maintained this song in my repetoire since it was first released by the band. I have shortened the beginning for the contest rules but other than that it is pretty close to the original.

Finally, a real guitar player . Do you read tablature?

Comments:

Thank you and yes I read tablature but I also play by ear. This particular song I learned by listening to it. Pat

Sucks. n00b sauce is married and is still playing covers Being a skilled guitarist is one thing, composing and being a true musician is one that is totally different.

FYI This is true, this is a cover song, but as far as original music goes, my band had recently been voted finalists in the Gretsch Greats 125th Anniversary contest for a song that I had composed . In addition, another band I was in had won first place for 2 consecutive years for original music at the Saratoga County fair in NY of which I wrote original music. In addition- I have played all original music at Cafe Lena's in Saratoga NY. (a small coffe shop where people such as Bob Dylan being one of them, have played their original music) I have been writing original music for Guitar for many years, and I enjoy writing material with a "Chet Atkins" style yet all original. I will put some of my material on you tube for you. The reason I used "Mood for a day", was because it is a difficult song to learn and play and figured it would seperate me from the other players-which is what originality is all about. Pat

WOW... Your awsome! ! ! and your guitar.. is that an old Tatay built on Long Island?? Those old Tatays were made of the rarest mahogany .. Impressive.

Comments:

Thank you Banjomaster, Yes that is a Tatay Guitar, but the wood is black spanish walnut on the sides, spruce top, and Cocobolo 2 piece back (a rare tropical wood). I bought the guitar and actually saw it being made at Tatay & sons on Horseblock Rd. , Long Island, NY. , many years ago. The fretboard is rosewood, but looks ebony because of all the use it has had. Pat

have you heard the legend of the Tatay? An old spanish folk singer barrowed his brothers guitar and set off on foot to California in search of fame and fortune... The guitar was found near the mississippi river plated in gold and with a note saying: "to the one who can play me, may you be famous forever!" The brother had found the guitar when a map to its location was emailed to him from an anonymous emailer... with a picture of his brother and a map.

I never heard that one. Pat
