BigBossMan, Thanks for kudos- I appreciate it very much. I am only on here because my wife found this contest. She wanted me to sing a part of her favorite song while we were at home watching TV. She said she wanted to put it on YOUTUBE. She did! But in the process she entered me in this contest. Since I have played in cover bands for years and I am too old to enter American Idol - she thought this would be an experience that I would like and a memory to add to my travels down the band road~ Whether I win or place 2nd or nothing at all - is fine with me. I will continue to do what I love (which is rockin' on the weekends) and still make a good living at my day job. At this point... It is what it is! I'm sure the judges will pick the one that is the "best fit" for their gig. You have made this interesting and really ruffled some feathers with your comments. We all have our "cheerleaders" that think we "should win this" thats why they are our supporters - they believe in us. I just didnt put out a mass e-mail to all the 3,000 employees that work where I do - I just wanted the REAL JUDGES to check us out and may the best man/woman win. My life continues forward and I'm going to live it to the fullest~ When this is said and done - I would love to know what band you are in. If you dont want to share that, thats cool - I respect that but if you want to hit me up on "myspace" and tell me - cool! Love to check out your stuff if you have a band website. Later, Raeder

For the record, the voting may be over but the comments will continue til the end! This is to reiterate what I have said before. That is, I pointed out in my comments regarding the contestants that if those who were truly talented and stood out as the best possible finalist and potential winners who followed the rules, who were prepared with a piece that fit the criteria expected by NAMM and did those pieces to the best of their ability according to what the judges would be looking for, I considered them the ones who ROCKED and possibly even ROCKED MY WORLD. My opinion and judgement was not based on any other websites, youtubes, etc etc but on the submission to Cover Band 2010 contest...no more no less. I enjoyed your vocals very much, Mike. I like a wide range of music and you hit a nerve with me. I was moved- a vocalist who can bring back memories in song is right on, man! I felt the same about Cassie Ray and Tommy Budd too. I felt that way about guitarists I've watched,drummers and other instrumentalists too. But others I was not moved by, and I told them so, I told them why. And in turn, their "crew" has attacked me for their hero when of course as an opinion I gave, it was just that- an O-P-I-N-I-O-N based on common sense formed from the submissions from these other entrants. Though as of late, they are saying from the LP guys camp that the contestants I wrote nice stuff about were "the worst contestants". If NAMM is watching, I just want to let you know Mike I wasn't BSing about your talent,dude. You are truly an artist,humble, the real deal, and all the yahoos with their yadayadas can't make me change my mind about what I know is real. If you aren't the chosen one, then it ain't no big thing either. Just another publicity stunt by Kaman Corp to put one of the lame ones up front like wanna bee singer with a bogus LP guy song in the lite for 15minutes, or another karaokecoversinger333 in front of the teleprompter trying to read a song. I don't think they would do that, for the sake of reputation at least.I would hope the manfacturers wouldn't, for Karl Parazzo's sanity!hahaha But when the choices are made, I know Budd and you will still love the ones you're with, where you are at, because I can tell that's what appears most important to you and him as musicians go, win or lose... and THAT'S why I wrote nice comments about you and him,ipso facto! Hey Mike - I'm just wondering if the "bigbossman" is in a band? Do you know him? Just curious because there is a band by the name Bigbossman and I was curious if he happened to be in a band - that would explain his vast knowledge of music and why he shares his opinions. He is very very observant and knows what he likes. Hmmmm........

Your youtube videos are good too. Can you change this vid to the Daughtry song you have on your youtube account? That really shows what you can do. I like Babe too - just wish you would of sang a little more of it.... You have a good voice and wish you the best of luck.

I checked out the OLD BAND PICTURES and I know it's you... The only difference is you arent wearing spandex now and your a little older!!!! GOOD news maybe somebody will get 200 votes because they have a large family and maybe they ran an ad in their local paper that said, VOTE FOR ME - SEND ME TO CALIFORNIA FOR FREE! And when they get there, they find out that they werent quite ready for what it takes to truly perform in front of hundreds or thousands of people. It is a bummer that this particular contest didnt get as much exposure as they hoped - thats why they extended their deadline for entries. I kinda wish the nice lady with the goggles on her head with the great personality would call all her friends, family, co-workers, and have everybody vote for her. I'd love to see her get 300 votes and WIN this thing just because she had such huge support. If I could vote again - I would vote for her too! Remember Mike, it is about support and not so much on talent... cassiraye is right Mike, it can be considered one sided because need to get support to help. But one thing that is sure to stop friends and audiences who like you to register and vote is that email addresses are up and sold to sponsors and the world wide web, who then BARRAGE us with solicitation. Many people don't like to "go public" over a contest big or small.Support your local musician and NAMM will sell your address for participating. It's win win situation for NAMM and the contestants, the winners and supporters get unwanted solicitation. bogus! But anyway, keep on smiling as wet willie would say.hahaha

I dont see it as being one sided. I dont think theres anything wrong with seeking support from loved ones and friends. Its obvious this contest isent HUGE or else there would have been more videos submitted and you, Mike would have MANNNNNYY more votes. Mike,I just noticed karaokecoverband333 has been so wet on winning he had submitted a video on youtube,(Timing is perfect for him to be EGGHEAD) here lyric chart reading HIS version of "Babe" a MONTH after you entered the contest(to attempt to show you up no doubt)And it's still running. He intentionally directs viewers of cover band 2010 to his youtube account, to say he even does Styx! Sorry, dude, but I'm sticking to my guns here, he's not any better than people I see at a karaoke bars trying to one up on "their competition" with whatever poor sportsman-like conduct they can hustle. And he's not the only one pulling stunts in this contest. Word to the wise: just keep doing what you heart has meant for you to do and rock your venues, this contest is gonna probably be rigged anyway in the end. I wish I would have thought to submit a song about a sponsor to schmooze, like howsabout Musician's Friend: "...I need a friend, I'm that musician who has trouble with not much money to spend, I know I can always rely on them with the best, That they will be there just a click away to my Internet friends, and I'm all the way live again thanks to MUSICIAN'S FRIEND". hahaha -just off the top of the head...

When the idiots crawl out from under their rocks to make invalid comments on talent you can bet they are the failures to communicate. If they could judge talent correctly they would be able to "hear" what Pavarotti could do with his voice,his lungs and with his "memory" of song. You've got the pipes,dude,the memory of songs and the talent. What idiots don't get in this day and age will hurt them in the long run for not learning right and wrong. They don't get you're ready to be in a NAMM Supergroup 2010 so whatever they say doesn't matter. It's harder to sing sitting down than standing up,as guys like Buddy Miles from Jimi Hendrix fame would testify, and you covered this tune and obviously could standing up too, and by the rules!
