For the record, and vulgar ulga, I am bigbossman from the UK, I be not a Tommy, nor a Mike, nor a Cassie, Michelle, Patricia, Jake, or any other bloke you want to come up with for name or identity to this text.Don't blame any one of them.Shame on you for that! I watched this contest coming up since acquainted with NAMM and followed everyone to enter. When I commented accordingly some wanted to play words with me. That's what we over here are very good at. You Americans repeat yourself too often the same thing and your leave yourselves open for attack.I can say this fellow Ariel did one thing impressive- he tried, as did the others in the entire contest here. We British are considered brash and annoying in our opinions, obviously by the replies to my comments. But I believe still I that am not mistaken. In this dream to win all invest time to love their favs but hide the errors, taking a blind eye about what was not done correctly. For all of those, may your fantasies come true. For those mates who told it like it is, I salute you for your honesty, and integrity to judge accordingly and completely-cheers! - Listening to music Truly yours, Joseph L(from South Wales)
***FYI:for big A's original words go to THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF : http://www.lpmusic.com/The_LP_Family/about.html VERY VERY ORIGINAL COMPOSITION, WRITTEN BY SOMEONE ELSE!!And the original words from the A's Original Song for LP were written a long time ago. WHO WROTE THOSE LYRICS?Ariel? NO,he did not. It's not his "jingle." SO much for claiming an "original" to get credit.
On the other hand, the other "worst contestants" ic mentions were at least honest and have proven histories and successful track records in the music business,And sang songs from the setlists they built for their showcases. So for all the Ariel fans, put your idol high up as you can, but for a cheater aiming high.... he's never gonna fly on a lie.
So what if he took some of the words from LP writers to make a jingle about LP. What's the difference? It sure has a catchy melody that you or none of your wannabee buddies would have come up with. Stop being so jealous and get a life!!!
Its obvious that bigbossman is tone deaf And doesn't know anything about music what-so-ever, for the simple fact that he wrote such wonderful comments to THE WORST CONTESTANTS! i mean come on, in the vocal department no one was even close to touching Ariels vocals! Not even close. And who cares what song he decided to sing or write, Hell he could've sang Barney's theme song for all i care, but at least we would all know that he would sing the mess out that song as well! The dude got vocals, there is no vocalist in this competition up to his level, and BIGBOSSMAN sorry but you obviously have no idea what music is and what it consist of. Go get a life bigbossman, you obviously didn't make it in the music industry so don't hate just cuz others got what you WISH you had!! Ariel, this competition is yours no doubt About it kid!!! ps.. I heard your band before bigbossman and really dude, get a new day job cuz its just not your thing bro. sorry...
You blow a lotta smoke but you got no fire, with 'ur yada yada yada, yada yada yada, Kiss up to your "A" while you're a big fat liar, yada yada yada, yada yada yada, 'ur a yesman yesman yada yada yada, anutha yes man- yes man- blowin yada yada*******

This is in reply to the bigbossman comment about the song.
You said that the vocal are good and your correct- that's a given and there's much talent. But, then you said the song wasn't original, it didn't rock your world, it was bad, and it would lose the company money. What's funny is this; for a person who wasn't rocked by it, etc... You sure know what the song was trying to convey, the melody stuck in your head because you referenced different singers, and you wrote a long response. For a person who wasn't rocked by the song, you sure seemed blown away. In the music industry this is called - a BIG HIT/MASTER PIECE. The mission was accomplished. Everytime you see the word LP, you will always think about this song and what it represents. Songs aren't supposed to rock you, there supposed to make you remember, feel, and contemplate.
By the way, your comments fit in all three categories. This isn't about being a yesman, it's about being honest. Next time before you write a response make sure it's it's above reproach.
GOD BLESS YOU ARIEL, YOU HAVE PROVIDED INSPIRATION TO MANY PEOPLE AND NEVER GIVE UP! IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU WHY I'VE BEEN ABLE SUCCEED MY WILDEST DREAMS AND MANY MORE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIVE A BLESSED LIFE!
MUCH LOVE!
JG
When I showed this entry to several people I know (after a while I stopped for the sake of redundancy)and their response was "crap", "goofy", "what an amatuer" etc
(get the hint?) my own long-er response was to inform the entrant who is obviously a friend to you that he has MUCH to learn about music. What did this entry "convey", anyway? The entrant wants to schmooze LP in some lame way? what's really bunk is that this guy didn't submit any percussion entry, so he's must not be capable enough in that arena to enter his solo on congas etc. But I bet he does want a free set of LP congas, huh Ariel? then you'll need lessons, like you need lessons in vocal training!Lets look a little more realistically about music-take the root blues melodies, for example. Put your own words to someones other than your own melody and call it "your new original song" ...but it's really not original. (and in this case not good, "goofy" as one person I know put it,plagiarism and "stupid" was from others). I have college educated teachers who looked at this submission as "elementary" at best, the entrant not worthy to be in the competition to be a grand prize winner. I mention pros in the business and their hits as a reference to Ariel's unpolished melody that in his unconscious mind took the subliminal and weirdly brought melodies he had heard to the surface to make " his song?"(George Harrison did the same thing with GREAT lyrics in My Sweet LOrd- those lyrics I will forever remember! BUT, it's not his song, get it??..., not his material.Ariel's poem lyrics- pretty lame too- straight out of 6th grade he tries to put the strange melody to it.Read those words at a coffee house open mic, sing it for that matter in front of an all stranger-to-you audience and see what happens.it's not a hit, not even a good commercial jingle as another critic said to me. You'll be laughed and booed off the stage! As for carrying the song with me every time I think of this entry LP, 'it went in one ear and out the other." Ipso facto. Hard for you to fathom, huh? There's a lot of crappy jingles for music equipment out there already that a lot of us who know music have to plug our ears to. God help us if this is LPs desired promotional material.YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN ,JG! Songs that rock ME,and other true lovers of GOOD music, we will ultimately and emphatically remember, word for word, which is not the case EVER here, fellow. I am certain you are just simply another yesman for Ariel-the I'm gonna make me a song about LP self-proclaimed- songwriter. And I'll bet you haven't even memorized his song IN IT'S ENTIRITY like a true fan would. You're no more than another devotee friend who doesn't want to give any constructive critisism...everything Ariel does is wonderful, marvelous. Maybe in your never-tell-it-like-really-is- huggy world dude, but not in mine and my people's world. The guy is not the center of our universe, and is amateur,at best. Sorry to disappoint you.YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN ABOUT THE BIGBOSSMAN, JG. But since you seem vented on carrying your denial to the printed page regarding my critique I gave, you might come to terms with reality, someday.
This is a lot like amateurs in local talent shows and open mic nights. Apparently improv-ed,last minute sad entry level made up "original"song about a sponsor.
Lacks in structure for a composition of melody. Parts of melody "accidentally"taken from various artists (ie:-Luther Vandross w/chopped up melody done faster). "Commercial" lyrics attempted leaves listener bored. Others doing covers are better. You've put the cart before the horse, rule breaking - not cool. Stick with your vocal talent ,which by the way isn't too bad, then first learn how to compose before you actually attempt that feat and you'll be a hit, maybe. This is a pretty dumb song-simply not a good song for LP promotion, unless LP would want to lose money in sales after someone heard this muck. My view is not like the "yes" comments not willing,or able, to tell you like it is. I'm not one of your yesmen. If it rocked my world I'd tell you it did. It don't.
Above, jerremiasgarcia7 on Oct.31.09 said that my comment Oct.3,09 also above about this entrant was made because... "I'm blown away about the entry". Will someone read my critique above-
VERY VERY SLOWWLY to this jerremias character. What's written above by me
is not a positive response. I can't see it positively. I said his vocal talent "isn't too bad". That doesn't mean I'm blown away, or that it is worthy. It means he needs help,someday...in the future,MAYBE,he'll pay enough dues in this world of music to be good. The yessman for the entrant is obviously dillusional.Cut the crap, people. If it isn't Raeder or Budd to be Grand prize and first place winners, than the sponsors aren't concerned with REAL talent and only duplicating America's Got Talent for the ratings and publicity, and not for a pro showcase!Hurrah, Ariel the loan officer is the winner of NAMM's Cover Band 2010!!...and next year it'll be coversinger333 and after that in 2012... SUSAN BOYLE.Boy, I sure hope it don't go down like that! and as for the other categories,
the same applies. Only those who are pro material ready and will are what it takes to have in a supergroup...no yahoos, or worse, schmoozers. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee!!!- bigbossman
